Klipsch Review S4i White

Earlier this year a new set of headphones that came out immediately attracted attention for its elegant curves and earplugs oval. And unlike many headsets on the market, Klipsch S4i supports the latest devices including 4/3GS/3 Apple iPhone, iPod touch and third Generation Shuffle buttons. For a price of $ 99, these are serious candidates for all those that are an alternative to Apple's standard buds. But are they good?

L 'Box

The Klipsch S4i is shipped in a box, it is impossible to open. The instructions are on the back, how to open it printed, but I really ended up with a knife to open the package. As soon as I opened was presented with a basic equipment: a pair of earphones, a cleaning device, a bad shirt clip, and, last but not least, a metal to keep everything together. The small metal can be particularly felt the lack of space, it reminded me of being used to bring cookies to the way in which her grandmother.

All inall that they give you just enough to be safe, but most likely will not be used. I thought it was an ear tip that my ears adjusted and held in all the ugly, with no intention in the near future.

Design

I've been pretty spoiled in this part. I previously owned Apple in-ear headphones are not really that great, but it breaks every four months. Now, with the Klipsch S4i can say that this really nice headphones. They are very small andshare a common project of silver, black and white. I think it look really sporty and dynamic, without, however, higher up and scream for attention.

The point where the two meet is hollow, where the remote control. E 'slightly larger than the Apple version, but the operation works very well. More on that later. At the end of 47-inch cable, connector, right is guaranteed by the black plastic. The term remains to be seen, but the S4i Klipsch is one of the best lookingThe headphones on the market, second only to Apple. It is also white, which is a real crowd pleaser.

Re-build quality as I am not aware of. I'm interested to see how these things stand the test of time in normal daily use. Just from observation I do not think that things are good. The cables are thinner than Apple's headphones and the plastic cap looks not too stable. I will tell you if and when to break them. I hope the weather will not beanytime soon.

Remote

As I said, supports the latest Apple, I was not kidding. Klipsch has worked closely with Apple for the production of these and it shows. The remote control supports all the standard command-i-buds can be done. You can invite them to end calls, pause songs, skip songs and even make voice commands through the microphone that is on the back of the remote.

I tried the remote with my iPhone for the last 4 weeks and I can confirm thateverything works as advertised. The operation of the buttons is very easy and intuitive. The remote control is at chest level so you should not reach for the right ear when using the keyboard, it takes some 'getting used to, but in the end it works like a charm. ACID · Now you might ask when the microphone is so far from your mouth. Now she Klipsch announced as a 360-degree microphone that blocks noise and makes you move like a normal cell.

ToI tried a couple of phone calls from inside and out, and asked her if she understood me clearly. And they have confirmed that with every test, even if I went jogging in the city. So I can only praise the quality of the microphone, at least when the people who were on the line of other truths. Sorry, there are some problems with the remote control as a whole. With the remote control without having to look at, even if it is capable, very difficult, because the three keys exactly the same feeling. could help Klipschthis from the up / down the volume of a different (yet?) form. And I was not particularly happy with the size of the remote is. It seems a lot of wasted space around the buttons. Perhaps it would be even easier to use with large keys and a smaller body.

Sound quality

To test the sound quality I have a wide range of music including pop, country and dance. I played songs I've heard too often on a regular buds, the Apple earbuds and a pairSony in-ears from 2005. While the music that I can pay special attention to the bass response, treble and little details to reveal the headphones really great. Lossless music files, MP3 ranges from 128kbs to 312kbs.

I started to play pop songs and was far from the bottom to produce these things can be blown. Sony and Apple can not be compared. The deeper tones was really tight and has never flowered, but I felt the need to tone it down a bit '. • Acid higher gradeswere about on par with the Apple In-ears. Guitars and drums were very clean and much more dominant than the headphones I had had many before. Music I've listened to for years suddenly seemed very different in a good way!

second test was a genre that I personally hate: House. The sound of computerized sounds together to make a "Swing for party guests drunk. No offense. I am pleased to announce that the wider range of frequencies that produce the Klipsch S4i can beusually make it sound much better. I felt as I heard the music, exactly as I wanted, much more than the Sony and Apple in-ears I've used before. The deeper tones has never left the field corresponding to a fantastic result that few speakers or headphones for that price he can.

Opera is growing. Okay, not really, but I still like. I heard Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti and Paul Buonvino. These levels are industry leaders and are, in my opinionmore recently. Time to Say Goodbye Andrea Bocelli sounded crisp and clear, but could not be said of Nessun Dorma. This song sounded good on my previous gems, but now the Klipsch S4i highlighted the poor quality of compression of the song. In general, they point out really bad with compression and other topics in the songs that I had no problems. I think this is because almost no difference in quality between the iPhone is lost and what's in your ear.

I can not say enough that the songsIt sounded so different from Klipsch, as they do on other headphones. Overall, the quality is excellent, especially for that price.

In real life

Now is the time to provide the quality of design and sound in everyday situations. I am using this for a couple of weeks and now here are my results. First I wanted to use them for exercise and running. I have a lot of research on this topic, but never found what I was looking for, but I decided to take theSkip to lack of alternatives. They work great in the gym. You did a great job of blocking, horrible music gym, and let me on the content of my music library to concentrate. I could listen to a volume of 1 / 3, without feeling a thing around me. I felt as if the job alone, like no other person who was there. They are renowned for, if not the cord moves, like the biceps on the machine or during strength training. E 'was less comfortable doing cardio. I wentfor a 7-mile jog the other day and the sound of the string hit my body made me go crazy. I think it's a design flaw in-ear, because the same happened with Sony and Apple. The situation was a bit 'better a few miles, probably because I used it, and since the seal was loose and let the bad sounds. Towards the end of the race I was very sweaty and toes started to feel very loose. I had to push in every 200-300 meters. But despite this Ifound that the best apples in terms of comfort and sound quality.

Conclusions

The S4i Klipsch is a great alternative for people who have the standard Apple headphones for a better quality than those without replacing the remote control. They look fantastic and are very comfortable to wear, with better sound quality unmatched by anything I've heard in this price class, always. A few minor hiccups prevent this is not perfect. The additional ear plugs might not fit properly, the ears andCheap can be a good idea gone bad. But for the most part, if you stand the test of time, the S4i Klipsch is one of the best in-ear headphones I've ever seen under $ 100 console.
